Je me demande
?

KENWOOD KD3070 - 2 Speed Direct-Drive, pitch control, 8,6Kg Turntable (1977),
Visuellement fort défraîchie (mais peu importe).
Service manual: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/899550/Kenwood-Kd-3070.html#manual
Grand merci!

To Antonio:
-How do compare the Rega P6 vs Kenwood KD3070+theCartridgesYouMentioned (Denon 103r and audio Technica 740) ?
To all:
should I keep my Kenwood KD3070, as the ISSUES are described hereafter, or sell it and buy an affordable entry-level modern turntable? (for instance, the new $500 Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo, which comes equipped with an Ortofon 2M Red)
ISSUES with my Kenwood KD3070:
-with treble (high sibiliance on voices, with Ssss sounds) = an obvious technical issue (stylus? CARTRIDGE Ortofon LM30? - see hereafter)
-not transparent
-sounds dark, unclear and lean overall.
CARTRIDGE Ortofon LM30 & styli?
Initially, the left channel was silent. I changed the stylus as I found another one in my late step father's garage. Now I have both channel with that other stylus.
But I don't know the *status* of that 2nd stylus I found (was it a new one he bought but never installed? Was it a used one he kept as a backup? No idea)
Anyway with that 2nd stylus, on voices, the SSSsss blows very much; obviously something wrong with it.
MAINTENANCE PRICE?
There is still a price on the 2nd stylus' box I set up: Kr 295 (Danish Krone) = approx. $44/€40.
As it seemed very cheap, I was looking forward replacing it by a brand new one, to be sure of its status, but I see it costs now €269 !!!!
So it must be a very, very old one I found in the garage and set up on the Kenwood...
This means that the maintenance on the Kenwood will at least require a €269 expense. And I am still not yet sure it is worth it, neither if the result will suit me.
So, I'm puzzled.
any advice?
NB: I have no knowledge AT ALL about turntables, and (nearly) no tools, apart from a few turnscrews and my hands I am relatively good with.
Thanks!
